BDS User Roles

Managing user roles and accounts for WorldTracer Bag Delivery Service is done using the SITA Identity Management (IDM) portal.

BDS Roles

Role & Role Name in IdM	Uses Application	Description
Delivery Driver BDS-DELIVERY-DRIVER	BDS Driver App	Delivery drivers can see bags assigned to them by a dispatcher, and can update bags status. They cannot see new bags until they are assigned to this driver by a dispatcher using WebBDS.
Pickup Driver BDS-PICKUP-DRIVER	BDS Driver App	Pickup drivers can see all new bags, assign those bags to themselves, update the status of the bags, and can deliver bags.
Dispatcher BDS-DISPATCH-AGENT	WebBDS	A dispatcher can see all bags received by the airline or handler, can schedule bags for pick up and delivery, assign bags to drivers, see drivers' location, and download reports.
Administrator BDS-ADMIN	WebBDS	An administrator has the same rights as a dispatcher, but also configures BDS settings, such as airports where the company operates, the pickup times, and types of service.
Airline User BDS-AIRLINE	WebBDS	An airline agent can access a subset of the features available to the dispatcher, and can only display their own bags and those of airlines they handle. The airline user can edit or cancel a BDO, add comments, and run reports.
Call Center Agent BDS-CALLENTER-AGENT	WebBDS	A call centre agent can display bags, add comments, view the change log and drivers’ location. A call centre agent cannot create or edit a BDO, cancel, assign, generate reports, or administer the company’s setup.

These roles can be assigned to users in addition to their BDS roles.

Role in IdM	Description
IdMUser	Allows the user to access to the IdM home page, my account, and change their own password. It is assigned by default to all users. With this role, users can change their own password from the IdM application.
IdMUserAdmin	For users who manage WorldTracer BDS user accounts for their company. It allows the user to create, update, disable, delete, unlock/reactivate, clone user, and change the password for users in their company.

You can assign multiple roles to the same user, as indicated below.
